There’s lots new at WordPress.org today — version 2.7 is out. “Coltrane” includes a completely new look, and streamlines a lot of the processes that have historically taken a lot of time. But it’s more than just candy and shortcuts, as the intro blog post by Matt notes:
Next you’ll begin to notice the new features subtly sprinkled through the new interface: the new dashboard that you can arrange with drag and drop to put the things most important to you on top, QuickPress, comment threading, paging, and the ability to reply to comments from your dashboard, the ability to install any plugin directly from WordPress.org with a single click, and sticky posts. Digging in further you might notice that every screen is customizable.
There’s a video in the link too. I’ve been playing with RC1 for a few days now on a test site, and it’s really slick, even if it takes a bit of getting used to. Now to update the 12 client sites I’m maintaining!
